Vanarama National League South
East Thurrock United 2 v 2 Bishops Stortford
EAST Thurrock worked hard for another single point at home against Bishops Stortford at the Forestfuel Stadium.
Rocks had the better of the early play, but Stortford caught them on the break twenty minutes in when Jermaine Osei got clear and rounded the keeper to put his side one up.
The Rocks fought back, going close on a couple of occasions, and having a potential own goal scrambled off the line.
However, they did get level on the stroke of half time when Joe Ellul smashed home at the far post. …
Despite some good attacking play in the second half, Rocks found the visiting defence in uncompromising mood, and it was the Blues who regained the lead with ten minutes left, Osei scoring from the penalty spot following a handball decision.
Rocks threw everything at the Stortford defence, and were rewarded with just a couple of minutes left when Kane Ferdinand fired home after a scramble in the goalmouth.
