Couple arrested in Nazeing over shooting of man in Stanford-le-Hope

A MAN and woman from Romford have been arrested in connection with the shooting of a man in Stanford-le-Hope.A warrant was executed in Nazeing, near Harlow, this morning (October 11) and a 58-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were arrested on suspicious of conspiracy to murder, in connection with the shooting of a man on May 10.The victim, aged in his 50s, was at the junction of London Road and Stanford Road when the shooting happened shortly before 7 pm.He was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries.The 24-year-old was also arrested in connection with the murder of Paul Simmons-Turner in Waltham Abbey on December 8, 2015.Mr Simmons-Turner, who was a drug dealer, was fatally shot in the chest through the window of a woman’s car while he was trying to flee from a gunman.The 38-year-old was on the run from police when he was ambushed and shot outside the Marriott Hotel on Old Shire Lane in Waltham Abbey.Both remain in police custody being questioned by detectives.
