PUPILS, staff and parents recently collected many food items to send to the local Foodbank, as part of their Harvest Festival project. With 13 million people who live below the poverty line in the UK, the Trussell Trust Foodbanks provide a minimum of three days emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis in the UK. There are currently 420 of these Foodbanks in the UK, with the hope to launch one in every town in the future.Principal, Miss Monique Anderson, said “We were really pleased with the amount of items that we managed to collect for people in the community who use the foodbank, especially as the winter temperatures fall and the dark nights draw in. Pupils, staff and their families are always happy to donate a few items to those who are in need. I would like to make a particular mention to Year 1 pupil, Dean, (pictured) and his family who donated a wide variety of the goods asked for and much, much more!
