A relaxed performance for Thameside Theatre’s pantomime production of Peter Pan, starring X Factor’s Marcus Collins, is taking place on Monday 19 December.
Relaxed performances are specifically designed for those who will benefit from a more relaxed environment, including people with an Autism Spectrum Condition, sensory and communication disorders, or a learning disability. It may also benefit those with Alzheimer’s or Dementia.
There is a relaxed attitude to noise and movement and some small changes made to the light and sound effects.
Thameside Two will be set up as a chill out area so if anyone in the audience feels the need to leave the theatre they can do so at any time.
No flashing lights will be used, so this show will also be suitable for those with light sensitive epilepsy.
Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhoods, Cllr Sue MacPherson, said: “We want to make sure those visiting our fabulous panto are comfortable and can enjoy the performance.
“If you are unsure whether you and your family would benefit from this type of performance, feel free get in touch, arrange a visit beforehand and familiarise yourself with the surroundings.”
