TILBURY Pioneer Academy’s Breakfast Club were recently treated to a £400 injection of funds, courtesy of the Griffin Foundation Trust.
The funds helped the Friends of Pioneer PTA buy sensory equipment for the many pupils that visit every morning from 7.30am. Pupils are treated to a hearty, healthy breakfast and are encouraged to play and interact with others as part of their ongoing social and emotional welfare. The club sees up to 60 pupils every day!

Managing Director of Griffin Estate Agents, Mr Alan Webb, said “We are always delighted to support local causes. It is fantastic to see all the effort that goes in to this club and more importantly, to see the pupils enjoying it so much!”
Pictured with Alan Webb and Ashley Froment from Griffin Estate Agents are; Head of School, Mr Dan George, Chair of the Friends of Pioneer PTA, Mr Jamie Jardine and Breakfast Club Leader, Miss Claire Whiley – accompanied by some pupils who regularly use the service.

Jamie also commented, “I would like to thank Griffin Foundation Trust once again for helping the Friends of Pioneer purchase the sensory equipment for our pupils. We have been able to purchase many items including Playdoh and Lego, as well as dressing up and sports equipment which will keep them active after their breakfast. The pupils really enjoy coming to the club and I hope this will encourage more to come along.”

Inclusion Leader, Mrs Karen Hubbard, continued “We have been fortunate enough to receive funding from Griffin to help develop the activities in this group so that we can work towards starting a sensory circuit group in our weekly mini assault course. Hopefully we can then progress to use this equipment daily for small groups of children. A sensory circuit is a set of physical activities to help us get ready for the day’s learning. We start with alerting activities, then move on to organising activities and finish with calming activities. We are extremely grateful for this kind donation and the continued support that Griffin provides to our school.”
