ESSEX Police are investigating after a house was burgled and then set on fire in Araglen Avenue, South Ockendon.
Officers were contacted just before 6.30pm on Wednesday November 30 to a report that the house had been broken into and was on fire. Essex Fire & Rescue Service attended and quickly extinguished the blaze.
Considerable damage was caused to the building and various items, including a large television, were discovered to have been stolen. There was no one in the house at the time.
Detectives have been making a number of enquiries but would urge any witnesses or anyone with information to contact Grays CID on Essex Police 101.
