CHILDREN from four schools in Corringham helped to brighten up the town’s Christmas trees with hand-made decorations. The pupils from Abbots Hall, Arthur Bugler, Giffards and Graham James Primary schools joined the community to switch on the lights and entertained people with their singing, accompanied by Councillors Roy Jones and Colin Churchman.
The trees, installed by Essex Communications, have been placed in Corringham Town Centre, Lampits Hill and Fobbing High Road. The Corringham, Fobbing and Homestead’s Community Forum organised and paid for the trees. Spokesperson for the Forum, Penny Partridge, said “We are so pleased that local children have been able to help contribute to the area with these lovely decorations. We hope that they will show their families the trees, when they shop together. Our thanks go to the school staff, Essex Communications and the loyal members of the forum for organising this event.”
Children from Corringham Primary School have decorated the tree in Lampits Hill and Fobbing Friends are looking after the tree in the High Road.
The next meeting of the Corringham, Fobbing and Homesteads Community Forum will be held at the library on Monday 9th January at 7.30pm. New members are very welcome.
