CHAFFORD Hundred parents have reacted with anger at the news that their children’s centre may close.
Chafford councillor, Mark Coxshall described the parents as “Yummy Mummies” in a council meeting. A term that the Labour group objected to.
The parents gathered outside the Beacon Centre in Drake Road to make their feelings known.
Janet Stables said: “Shocking, I used to live next door to it. It was always busy, it was a great place for families and certainly helped me when I had my son. It will be a big loss to Chafford which is overflowing with young families.”
Shocking, I used to love going to the baby group with Axl when I was on maternity leave! It was so nice to meet other mums and see the babies play and interact.
Marie Bourgeios: “Shocking, I used to love going to the baby group with Axl when I was on maternity leave! It was so nice to meet other mums and see the babies play and interact”.
The consultation continues.
