HERRINGHAM’S PTA, The Friends of Herringham, along with staff, recently held their annual Christmas Market. Stalls sold edible products which represented those sold all over Europe. There was a ‘guess the weight of the cake’, mulled wine, and a grand raffle. Even the governing body and the choir sang for the crowds as they filtered through the hall. Santa also put in an early visit to see what was on offer.
With the Christmas theme in mind, pupils were treated to a special pantomime performance by staff earlier on in the day. ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ was a super success with the children seeing Dame Trot (Jack’s Mother) taking centre stage with many other characters such as Honey G and Magic Bean. During the morning, pupils had been creating Hand Wreaths and Christmas Hoops, along with many other ornaments and food to share with their families.
Head of School, Mrs Sam Otto, said “The Friends of Herringham and our staff worked really hard to organise the Christmas Market, and it was a fantastic event. The pupils also enjoyed watching their teachers perform in pantomime earlier on in the day. I am very grateful to everyone that was involved, confirming that the spirit of Christmas has well and truly arrived at Herringham!”
