DP World London Gateway Port and Logistics Park held a Christmas party for local school children.

Around 100 youngsters from Treetops School in Grays and Corringham Primary School enjoyed a day of festive fun.

Many of the pupils took part in a tour of the state-of-the-art container port, with its robot stacking cranes and giant quay cranes, before heading to Thurrock Rugby Club for the party.

There, they took part in reindeer rides, sat in the cab of a Maritime Transport truck and with met Father Christmas’ elves and some of Disney’s best-loved characters. Then they danced away to Christmas tunes provided by DJ Michael Clarke, who works at the port.

A team of volunteers at DP World London Gateway organised the free party which was held on Tuesday, December 13.
