Is Thurrock Council drowning in a sea of Freedom of Information requests?

OVER 900 requests for information under the Freedom of Information (FOI) were made to Thurrock Council in 2016.

2015/2016: 980

With still three months to go, it looks like the number of FOIs to Thurrock Council will surge last the 1000 mark.

The requests cover a huge variety of subjects.

For example:

1. How many crematoriums in Thurrock?

2. How much are Chafford Hundred councillors paid?

3. Missing children under the care of Thurrock Council.

4. A Boston Borough Council bond for £1 million in 1992.

5. Pet Shop Licences

6. Public Health Funerals (Quite a few of them)

7. Accidents at Jump Giants in West Thurrock

8. Councillor’s Council Tax Debt (There is a few on that one)

9. Owners of Houses of Multiple Occupation

10. Stray Dogs and Dogs Put Down

11. Fly Tipping

12. Harris Academy building

13. Council spend on external law firms

14. Council spend on google adwords

15. Breath Tests for Council Staff

16. Funding from the European Union

17. The Tim Aker Foundation

18. Children in Care due to obesity
