Focus on ambulance service in Thurrock

THE region’s ambulance service will be shining a light on the important work of the emergency operations staff next week.

As part of its takeover week, the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) wants people to learn about those who are at the other end of a 999 ambulance call.

Using social media platforms, the takeover will run between Monday and Sunday, and give an insight into the call handlers, dispatchers and other control room staff like the critical care desk, incident command desk and the emergency clinical advice team (ECAT) who work in the control rooms.

Some of the inappropriate calls the Trust receives will be focussed on too. In the past the Trust has highlighted these types of calls such as a drowning goldfish and a dead squirrel. You can read the full story here http://ow.ly/JZ89308iHDs

The service will be using the #EOCtakeover on Twitter, and users of Facebook and You Tube will also be able to view materials.
