AT January’s full council meeting UKIP Cllr Peter Smith called for no more speed bumps in Thurrock citing they cause damage to vehicles, increase air pollution and are an outdated method for traffic calming.
Cllr Smith said “With more modern alternatives to speed reduction such as ‘speed tables’ and ‘actual speed signs we really need to take a more holistic approach to traffic calming that additionally benefits reduction in air pollution.”
