Appeal after 12-year-old threatened with knife in Grays

ESSEX Police are appealing for witnesses after a boy was threatened by a teenager who tried to take money from him.

It happened at around 6.10pm on Tuesday, February 7 on the street at the Thurloe Walk junction with Hathaway Road in Grays.

The victim aged 12 and from the local area, was on a bike when he was approached by the suspect, who was also on a pushbike. He forced him to stop, pushed him backwards and asked him for money. He then brandished the handle of a knife at him before telling the victim to leave.

The victim didn’t give him any money and left the scene. He was shaken but unhurt.

The suspect is described as black, aged around 14 to 15-years-old, of a skinny build and around 5ft 7ins tall. He was wearing a blue puffer coat and dark blue jeans with a brown Gucci belt.
