UKIP MEP and councillor for Aveley, Tim Aker was left unimpressed by the Chancellor, Phillip Hammond’s budget.
Cllr Tim Aker MEP said: “The budget proves what we’ve said all along, you can’t trust the Tories. They promised time and time again to not increase National Insurance but did it anyway to the detriment of millions of hardworking people.
“If they are so open to breaking their promises on taxes, no one in their right mind will believe Theresa May when she says ‘Brexit means Brexit’. We are over 250 days on from the referendum and still nothing’s happened.
“With the last two budgets it was rumoured that the Thames Crossing will be announced. Yet no decision has been forthcoming. Hopefully they will not allow it to roll on as long as Heathrow where many communities were left living in limbo for many years. They should listen to the people – no more crossings in Thurrock”.
