Goals by Billy Coyne (pen 24′) and Mason Bloomfield (58′) secured the point.
Dereham’s scorers were Adam Smith (2′) and Jay Eastoe-Smith (51′)
The result leaves Aveley in tenth place on 61 points, ten points adrift of the play offs with just seven games left.
They return to action next Saturday away at Wroxham.
