GRAYS Shopping centre rolled out the red carpet for a very special local mother on Saturday 18 March.
Debbie Walker from Grays, was nominated by her daughter Gemma Ukoh in our ‘Make Your Mother’s Day’ competition to win a makeover and a new outfit and accessories here at Grays Shopping Centre.
Judges from shops within the Centre selected Debbie from dozens of nominations.
“Despite losing her husband and mum less than two years ago my mum has been amazing in keeping the family together”, said daughter Gemma on why she nominated her mother. “As well as this, she has helped me so much through my studies to be a nurse by caring for my son and coming to help whatever the weather”.
Debbie’s day started with a coffee and a consultation at Costa Coffee with stylist Roxi Gregory. The pampering then continued with hairstyling by Sam Robinson at Ego Hair Dressers and make-up by Ulica Marrucci. After this stylist Roxi joined forces with staff from Peacocks, Labels for Less, Select Fashion and Exit Shoes to fashion a new look for the super-mum.
At the end of a hard day’s shopping both Debbie and daughter Gemma were thrilled with the result and ‘made-over’ with their treat, commemorating the occasion with a photograph from Max Spielmann.
