DESPITE setbacks caused by the arson attack on East Tilbury library in early January, the Bata Heritage Centre volunteers will open the doors of East Tilbury Scout Group’s hall on Wednesday 26 April at 1000am for the first of its biannual events. The doors will close at 300pm.
We are all doing our best to keep “business as usual” and are currently arranging professional help for the restoration of our unique collection.
There will be a guided tour at 12 noon (£3.00 per person) around the Bata Estate by volunteers including the well-known local historian Mike Ostler.
The volunteers will be very happy to meet and greet old friends as well as new ones. Come and visit us and see what the Bata Shoe Company provided in East Tilbury.
