Transport for London boss to speak at Essex Chamber of Commerce meeting on HS2

Essex Chambers of Commerce are hosting their next Thoroughly Thurrock Networking Twilight event, at Orsett Hall on Wednesday 19 April 2017 with the Guest Speaker Dan Gierhart, Transport for London (TfL), Elizabeth Line formerly Crossrail between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.

Preparations are underway to introduce the first new train which will be introduced on TfL Rail Services between Liverpool Street and Shenfield from May this year before becoming part of the Elizabeth line, formerly Crossrail, when services launch in December 2018. When fully open in December 2019, the line will increase central London’s rail capacity, carrying over half a million passengers per day, helping TfL to keep pace with London’s growing population, which is set to rise from 8.6 million today to around 10 million by 2030.

Dan Gierhart, Customer Experience Manager for TfL Rail and the future Elizabeth line, will be coming to talk about the introduction of new trains and the benefits the Elizabeth line will bring to the area.
