ON SUNDAY, over 40,000 runners ran the gruelling 26 miles and 385 yards of the London Marathon.
Amongst them were a number of brave Thurrock runners, seen for charity and some for their own personal goal of managing to run from Blackheath to Buckingham Palace.
Here, in no particular order, are a number of the Thurrock heroes.
Aveley’s Martin Longhurst competed the course in 3.27.14. Martin ran for Cystic Fibrosis.
Martin Doyle completed the course in 6.01.02. Martin Doyle ran for the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance
Luke Biggs completed the course in 4.58.45.
East Tilbury’s Paul Ruskin completed the course in 5.10.48.
Chafford Hundred Running Clubs Jackie Johns completed the course in 5.24.03.
Eighteen-year-old Elise Coombs completed the course in 5.19.22. No that is not a two, eighteen!
