AFTER two defeats in a row, Orsett & Thurrock bounced back with a 70-run win over South Woodford.
The hosts won the toss and elected to bat first. Thanks to some important knocks at the top of the order, Orsett & Thurrock ended their innings on an imposing 321. Nawaz Ahmad Jan (100) scored his first century of the season from just 72 balls, which included three maximums. Captain Paul
Bennett opened the batting and got the innings off to a great start with 66, plus there some useful innings from Umar Ayub (37), Agha Tahir (33) and a blitz at the end from Umaad Sultan, who finished unbeaten on 20.
Bradley Cooper offered hope for the visitors as he made 98 from 119 balls, but none of his fellow partners were able to stick around for long periods. He was eventually removed by Shahid Khan, who bowled an unbelievable spell of 7-32 to seal victory for Orsett & Thurrock.
