One of the biggest urban beaches in the south east is to return to intu Lakeside from Friday (14 July), giving families the chance to combine a shopping trip at the centre with all the fun of the seaside.

intu Lakeside is shipping in over 350 tonnes of sand, a number of paddling pools and a full amusement park for its family festival ‘The Beach intu Lakeside’ following the success of the summer-long event at the popular shopping and leisure destination last year.

There will be even more for families to enjoy this summer, with more than 25 rides and attractions, water games and entertainment shows on offer as well as a selection of food and drink on nearby stands or at intu Lakeside’s more than 30 family-friendly restaurants.

Marc Myers, general manager at intu Lakeside said: “We can’t wait to see the smiles on the faces of families who will be joining us at The Beach intu Lakeside this summer.”

“This is the second year we’ve brought the seaside to the centre; there will be more compelling experiences for families to enjoy there this summer that will make intu Lakeside the perfect destination for a fun family day out.”

The Beach intu Lakeside opens 14 July until 3 September, located at intu Lakeside, W Thurrock Way, Grays, RM20 2ZP. Tickets for entry cost £3 per person.
