ESSEX Police have charged a man following an incident in Berry Close, Langdon Hills, at around 6.40pm on Saturday, July 22

Gordon Stephenson, 51, unemployed, of no fixed address, Basildon, was charged with possession of an offensive weapon and attempted wounding with intent and is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court today (Monday, July 24).

A 46-year-old man from Basildon suffered a stab wound to the chest and a cut to his hand following a disturbance at an address. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was discharged later that day.
