Royal Opera House host taster sessions for Thurrock Community Chorus

Royal Opera Community ChorusTHE Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus is once again holding taster sessions for anyone interested in joining. The sessions will be held on Monday 18 and Monday 25 September at Palmers College in Grays, beginning at 7.15pm.

The Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus now numbers some 140 singers from across the borough and from all walks of life, all generations and all abilities. The common factor is they love to sing. The Chorus sings at various events in Thurrock, in Covent Garden at the Royal Opera House and at festivals and concerts around London. No previous singing experience is required to join and there is no need to be able to read music. New Chorus members have the chance to audition to join the Chorus in a professional Royal Opera House production of Ulysses to be performed at the Roundhouse in London.

The Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus is open to everyone aged over eight, who lives, works, studies or volunteers in Thurrock. To discover the joys of singing together with a wonderfully diverse and interesting group of people, email the Royal Opera House Learning and Participation team in Thurrock on getinvolved@roh.org.uk or call 01708 891200. There is no charge for the taster sessions but registration is required. Transport is available to anyone who needs a lift to and from Palmers College.
