AWARD-winning Grays family business launches campaign to literally ‘draw’ in funds for construction industry charity close to their hearts.
Nationwide Traffic Solutions will pledge £5 per every traffic management drawing completed during October to their 2017/18 chosen charity Lighthouse Club, supporting construction workers in crisis.
Each year the traffic management company – winner of Thurrock’s Growing Business of the Year 2017 – choose a worthy cause and selected Lighthouse Club for the second year running.
Lighthouse Club provides financial, legal and emotional support to construction workers whose lives have been affected injury, illness, death or bereavement. The team have launched the unique campaign in a bid to smash last year’s fundraising total of £1180.
The business– which operates from depots in Grays and Lincolnshire to supply traffic management nationwide – produces a high volume of TM drawings for their customers spanning across all sectors including utility, construction and security. NTS CAD designers will be poised at their keyboards between 1st – 31st October to fulfil requests for traffic management plans from old and new customers.
NTS in-house designers use the latest CAD software and Cone 10 Designer to outline detailed, scaled traffic management schemes which are implemented by operatives on location. The team turn around drawings for their customers within 48 hours of the request and all plans are designed in accordance with Chapter 8 and CDM regulations.
NTS CAD technician Sam Piatt said: “Our TM drawings offer a host of benefits to our customers as they show what TM is used and where – and in October they will be supporting our charity too! The team are looking forward to hearing from customers in the hope we can raise as much as possible.”
NTS director Grace Goodall said: “This is the first time we have ever done anything like this and think it’s a great way for us to use our strengths to help raise as much as we can for Lighthouse Club.
“The gauntlet has been laid and our team are ready and raring to top last year’s total. Roll on October!”
Bill Hill, CEO of the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity said: “It’s great to hear that for the second year in a row we have been chosen by Nationwide Traffic Solutions as their charity of the year. Their ongoing support means that we can continue to offer a financial and emotional lifeline to construction families in crisis via our construction industry helpline. We receive no public funding and rely on the generosity and support of companies like Nationwide Traffic Solutions to make a difference to those in need.”
