Friday traffic and travel: Long delays on M25

1815 hrs

The M25 clockwise on Kent/Essex border has long delays of over 1 hour between J1a (A206) and J28 (Brentwood) as a result of earlier lane closures within J1A on the A282 southbound (Dartford Crossing). Lane closures were in place whilst a Heavy Good Vehicles load was re-secured and the vehicle is recovered. The vehicle has been recovered and all lanes are now open. The severe delays will take time to clear.

There are also long delays on M25 anti-clockwise of over 1 hour between J3 (M20) and the Dartford Tunnels on the A282 northbound.

Road users are advised to allow plenty of extra time for their journeys and may wish to consider using an alternative route if possible.

Location : The M25 clockwise at junction J1A . Lane Closures : Lanes 1 and 2 are closed. Reason : Broken down vehicle. Status : Currently Active. Time To Clear : The event is expected to clear between 17:15 and 17:30 on 20 October 2017. Return To Normal : Normal traffic conditions are expected between 18:00 and 18:15 on 20 October 2017. Lanes Closed : There are two of four lanes closed.
