THE Gateway Academy have a brand-new Student Leadership Team, recently chosen after a rigorous interview process.
Miss O’Dwyer, Student Leadership Team Lead, said “I am delighted with the enthusiasm of our new team, and excited to see how they all get on working together. We hope to make the Gateway Academy an even better place to be! I would like to thank all those who applied; those who didn’t make it through this time will become Peer Mentors and can re-apply at the next batch of interviews.”
Alongside the wearing of the Student Leadership uniform, Leaders must meet certain expectations and partake in a number of events which will enable them to move up within their Leadership Levels from Level 1 to Level 4. They have pledged to be fair and honest and will contribute their opinions, will listen to staff and students alike and will help the Gateway Academy to continue on its path to excellence.
Student Leaders follow the Academy’s Code of Conduct, and must be responsible and respectful of their roles. They even have their own page on the website, to share their news and introduce themselves to anyone that wants to know more about the team and how they work.
