Church choirs come together for harmony and reason at Christmas

THE choirs of St. Thomas’s & St. Peter’s R.C. Church and St. Peter’s & St. Paul’s Parish Church came together in blessed harmony to remind us of the ‘reason for the season’.

The carol service which was well attended, took place at St. Thomas’s Church on Sunday, 3rd December. It began with a warm welcome and opening prayers by Reverend Canon Brian O’Shea. He said: “It was very uplifting and being part of Christians together in Grays.”

Through readings and song, events surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ were recalled together with a passionate address given by Cheryll Ramballi of the Thurrock Teams Ministry.

Choir Master Peter Robinson said: “We both met and sang ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’, but the warmth of the fellowship in the singing more than made up for it. The two choirs combined beautifully and the whole evening was a joy to be a part of.”

Final word from Reverend Darren Barlow who declared it “A lovely evening with good friends and fine music. Thank you.”
