All of our Traffic Officers are dealing with live incidents so unable to assist with traffic management at this time.
From Ensign Buses: Part of the problem is Junction 30 is managed by Highways England & Junction 31 is Thurrock Council. They are hoping to transfer 31 to HE control. If both junctions were managed by HE and J30 & 31 traffic lights worked in co-ordination and remotely when required, it could help

Many roads around Thurrock congested.
Ship Lane, Aveley,
South Road, South Ockendon
London Road, Purfleet
There are currently severe delays of over an hour and a half on the M25 anti-clockwise between J4 and Dartford Crossing. This is due to heavy traffic on the other side of the crossing on local Thurrock roads, particularly around Intu Lakeside. This means that we are currently allowing vehicles through in sections, to prevent traffic from queuing inside the tunnels.
Please allow extra time for your journey should you be intending to travel via the crossing.

Don’t worry everyone we will soon have another much needed crossing that everyone moans about but we can all see why now.
Merry Christmas all you patient drivers.
@thurrocksgonedownhill Interesting use of the word “soon” !!! LOL
Glybo, I use the word soon not in the context of the UK Government being able to do anything positive for our country but in the context of they want to start building the new crossing in 2021. And now that the Chinese are showing an interest in financing & running the project it will happen…soon.
Merry Christmas.
we need at least three new thames crossings to keep the south east of England moving.
