Three Thurrock secondary schools marked “below average” in new government league tables


THREE Thurrock secondary schools have been marked below average according to the latest government league tables.

The secondary school league tables have just been published, featuring the results of the first pupils to sit new, tougher GCSEs in English and maths.

Three Thurrock schools: Hassenbrook Academy, Gable Hall Academy and Ockendon Academy are marked “below average”.

The tables allow parents and pupils to compare the local schools’ results.

The data shows how many schools have missed the government’s floor standard of -0.5 in Progress 8, all Thurrock schools have passed.

Well Above Average

Harris Academy: 0.82
Grays Convent: 0.53

Above Average:

St Cleres: 0.45
William Edwards: 0.17


Gateway Academy -0.08
The Hathaway Academy: -0.13
Ormiston Park Academy: -0.24

Below Average

Hassenbrook Academy: -0.41
Gable Hall: -0.42
Ockendon Academy: -0.43
