Thurrock residents with hearing loss invited to new event

PEOPLE with hearing loss are invited to attend a free information event in the Education Centre at Basildon University Hospital on Thursday 1 February, 3-5pm.

The ‘All Ears’ session has been organised by Hearing Help Essex, a registered charity that assists people with acquired hearing loss. It will be particularly helpful for those who are new to NHS hearing aids, but established users, friends and carers are all welcome to attend and find out more about available services and support.

Aimee McCall, chief audiologist, adult audiology, at Basildon Hospital, will be among the team of professionals hosting the event. Information and advice will be on offer on topics such as managing hearing loss, adjusting to hearing aids and the wide range of assistive equipment and technology available to benefit day-to-day communication.

There are more than 11 million people in Britain and a quarter of a million people in Essex with some degree of hearing loss.
Places are limited and must be booked in advance. To reserve a place, telephone 01245 496347, text 07950 406173, or

Another All Ears Event will also be taking place on Tuesday 15 May, 2018.
