May & Baker E.C. kept extended their grip on the leadership after their clash with third-placed Harold Wood Athletic ended in a 4-3 win in favour of the Barking-based club. Petrit Elbi notched a brace with James Barlow and Craig Hall scoring the other May & Baker goals. Harold Wood replied with a Robert Whitnell brace plus a goal from Danny Gillard. May & Baker E.C. now have a four point lead over Frenford, who lost their local derby at Manford Way 1-0 with Julian Edwards the scorer. Basildon Town lost to Rayleigh Town by the same score line which places them in real danger as they are now eight points adrift from Rayleigh, who sit one place above the drop zone. George Vile scored the goal won the relegation six-pointer. Lee Newton scored twice for Kelvedon Hatch who went on to beat Canning Town 4-1. Mike Daniel and George Saunders scored the other Kelvedon goals, with Canning Town scoring their consolation via Josh Thompson. White Ensign also picked up a 4-1 away victory at Bishop’s Stortford Swifts, with Luke Skinner’s brace being added to by strikes from Peter Paoletti and Conner Barmby. Akeem Skeen scored the Swifts reply. Ross Lamb and Josh White scored the Springfield goals in a 2-2 draw with Catholic United
Leaders Buckhurst Hill registered a 4-1 win over Shenfield AFC. Second-placed Great Baddow had to wait until the 86th minute before they secured victory over Hutton. Dan Gage scored the all-important goal. Old Southendian had no such trouble against Harold Hill, running out 5-2 winners that included a volley from the halfway line from Jon Staines, who added another goal in the victory. Lewis Groves, Connor Lane and Nick Henesy were the other Old Southendian marksmen, with Harold Hill’s replies being provided by George Shelvey and Siddy Clarkson. FC Hamlets beat Galleywood 2-0 with John Gilroy and Charlie Heatly notching; while Old Chelmsfordians drew 1-1 with Runwell Sports, whose goal was scored by Tom Howe.
Top played bottom as Herongate Athletic visited lowly Ryan, and it was the title-chasing side that came away with all the points via an 8-3 victory. Lee Atkinson and Lee Henry both notched braces, with Eamon Payne, Nick Pope, Glen Jordan and Scott Mortlock also getting on the score sheet. Jelka Tabukanga (2) and Richmond Bobie scored the Ryan replies. Ben Foord, Rob Lacy, Jamie Brown and Tyler Hubbard were the Benfleet marksmen in a 4-1 win over Rochford Town. May & Baker E.C. Res. secured a 2-0 win over Newham United with Carl Patten and Max Owen scoring the goals.
White Ensign Res. were gunned down by Jake Hendy, who came of the subs bench to score the all-important goal for Harold Wood Athletic Res. The 1-0 defeat drops White Ensign down to third, being leapfrogged by Shoebury Town who secured victory over Debden Sports. Dan Regan, Scott Clark and Kirk Hudson scored the goals in the 3-0 success.
