West Thurrock residents seek illumination
WEST Thurrock and South Stifford residents are calling on Thurrock Council to improve the lighting on the zebra crossings along London Road.
Coming together after the January meeting of the West Thurrock and South Stifford Community Forum, residents gathered at the crossing to highlight the need for better lighting. There is concern that the crossings are poorly lit and that it is difficult for cars to see anyone waiting to cross during hours of darkness.
Residents were joined by West Thurrock Councillor Oliver Gerrish who said, “I hope that the council is able to act on this request from residents. Visibility of pedestrians is quite poor at a number of zebra crossings along London Road, so some additional lighting would be very helpful!”
