Frenford remain top of the Premier Division table after a slender 1-0 win at Canning Town. Danny Driscoll scored the game’s only goal which made sure Frenford secured all three points. May & Baker E.C. return to winning ways after a 3-1 win at Manford Way. Jaszime Johnson, Petrit Elbi and Henry Osei scored the goals that secured the victory. White Ensign drop down to third after they were gunned down by Wayne Semanshia and Chris Neville which helped Kelvedon Hatch win the game 2-1. Liam Sewell scored the White Ensign goal, with his side also being reduced to ten men after Tim Pitman received his marching orders.
Great Baddow move to the top of the table after a 2-0 win over Runwell Sports. Sam Mead notched both the goals, which places them 2 points clear of Buckhurst Hill, having played three games more. Runwell Sports meanwhile sit at the foot of the table. Sam Jones and Nick Henesy both score braces, with John Staines also notching, as Old Southendian keep their hand in the promotion race with a 5-1 win over Shenfield AFC. Ben Carroll scored the Shenfield reply. Jake Clarke bagged both of Sungate’s goals in a 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Hutton. The visitors are gifted an own goal, with Tom Price and Jon Hilliard also adding to the tally. Snaresbrook secured all the spoils against relegation battlers Galleywood, with Daniel Tesfay scoring a hat-trick. Drew Barbier bagged the other Snaresbrook goal; Sam Donn scored the Galleywood goal, with this result keeping his side firmly in the relegation zone and starting to be cut adrift from the teams above them. Old Chelmsfordians on the other hand aided their relegation battle by adding another three points to the board. The 1-0 win they registered over Harold Hill keeps them 10th, two places above the drop zone, with an eleven point advantage over Runwell Sports and Galleywood.
Toby’s nine game unbeaten run was snapped by leaders Herongate Athletic who won the encounter 5-3. Chris Cleall’s brace was added to by strikes from Lee Atkinson, Scott Mortlock and Mike Thwaites. Toby’s goals where chalked by Idris Aminu, David Major and Rodney Capemba. The bottom two both faced-off as Rochford Town entertained Ryan. A David Watson hat-trick, braces from Steven Sharpe and Oliver Green, plus a goal from Colin Watson secured an 8-3 victory for Rochford which aids their fight against relegation. Ryan’s replies were scored by Krysztof Golebiowski (2) and Kalum Bama, but they sit rock bottom of the table, having only posted one win and a draw from their nineteen games. A1 Sports eked out a 1-0 win at Upminster.
Manford Way Res. continue their quest of landing the Division Three title as their 5-2 win at White Ensign Res. made it thirteen wins on the spin. Leigh Town were 3-1 winners at Hutton Res. courtesy of goals from Barv Waikwaku, Alfie Philips and Levi Harbour. Rob Lorkins supplied the Hutton consolation. Reece Morley and Jack Darby scored twice apiece, with Antonio Agyemang also putting his name on the score sheet for Frenford Res. went on to beat Harold Hill Res. 5-2.
Essex Junior Cup
There will be two Essex Olympian teams in the Semi Finals of the Essex Junior Cup, as Chingford Athletic made sure they will be joining Old Southendian Res. after knocking out Waltham Abbey ‘A’. Eric Kelly and Tayo Olansanyo were on hand to score the goals in the 2-1 success.
London Junior Cup
FC Hamlets are into the Semi Finals of the London Junior Cup thanks to Charlie Heatley. His goal was enough to overcome United London, booking them an away tie with Battersea Boys.
