THE A13 will be closed tonight (Wednesday) for emergency repairs on a large pothole where the road has collapsed.
The pothole is between Five Bells Interchange and Pitsea Flyover.
The road was temporarily closed yesterday (Tuesday, February 20), when Highways England had to conduct emergency repairs.
The repairs will take place tonight, as they plan to close the A13 Eastbound for more emergency roadworks to occurr.
The road was closed yesterday afternoon from 1pm to 4pm, for Highways England to temporarily repair the road to create little disruption to the rush hour traffic.
An Essex Highways spokesperson said: “A temporary repair to make the road safe was put in place on Tuesday in a bid to cause as little disruption to traffic as possible.
“We are in the process of re-doing this as the road has further deteriorated since the original work was completed.
“We plan to fully close the road eastbound tonight, after the peak traffic has passed, to allow time to complete a permanent repair.”
