Belhus to tour Barbados

THE club have jetted off on its third senior tour to Barbados, having previously toured the sun-drenched island in the Caribbean in 1976 and 1991.

The 35-strong party of players, umpires and scorers will enjoy six 35-overs matches – against North Stars CC, Wanderers CC, St Catherine CC, Empire CC, Windward CC and Isolation Cavaliers CC, as well as a pink-ball night match against a Barbados Defence Force XI.

Flying out from Gatwick, the club’s tour brochure carries welcome messages from the West Indies Test captain, Jason Holder, and the Barbados and West Indies legend, Gordon Greenidge – as well as words of congratulations and best wishes from the President of MCC, Lord MacLaurin, and President of Essex CCC, David Acfield.

In addition to the club’s highly successful Youth tours over the years, this will be the 32nd senior tour since its formation in 1960 and positively underpins the club’s unrivalled spirit of fun and adventure.
