The Scouts donated whopping 8,485 MOVE’s towards a Cancer Rehabilitation Programme run at Impulse Leisure centres across Essex and Sussex.

In partnership with Thurrock Council, Impulse Leisure runs a life changing exercise on referral programme designed to enable GP’s and other health professionals refer people who were previously sedentary or inactive, people who have existing health conditions or other factors that put them at increased risk of ill health. The programme provides an appropriate range of physical activity options enabling participants to work towards long term lifestyle changes.

“All members across our group of centres have made an astounding effort to contribute to the “LET’S MOVE” campaign,” Comments Impulse Leisure’s Group Health and Fitness Manager, Garry Tapsell. “With the help from the Scouts and our gym club members, we have managed a tally just shy of 6 million moves which has helped us raise hundreds of pounds towards new exercise equipment for our Cancer Rehab Programme, so thankyou to everyone who took part.”

The “LET’S MOVE” Campaign enables participants to do good for themselves and make a difference for others. The Scouts contributed by burning off a group total of 4,985 Kcal on a variety of the centres cardio machines, each one received a fitness badge for their efforts.
