Tennis student to lead East team at Nationals

A Sport student from South Essex College has been chosen to captain the East region at this weekend’s Association of Colleges Sport National Championships.
Charisma Nuqui, 17, from Chafford Hundred will lead the East team out during the opening ceremony as female captain for the region.

She’ll also represent the College by competing in the tennis finals during the weekend alongside her fellow classmate, Kane Elkin. The AoC Nationals are held in Nottingham on 20-22 April.

Charisma, a Level 3 Sport and Exercise student, said: “I feel really good about being nominated captain, it’s a great achievement. I couldn’t have done it without my lecturer, Aaron Quinn, and Kane encouraging me to succeed.

“I’m proud to be representing South Essex College. My level of tennis is high so hopefully I’ll have a good chance in the tournament.”
