TRIBUTES have been made to a former mayor of Thurrock, John Everett, who has died.
Mr Everett was the mayor of Thurrock between 2008 and 2009.
He was a Conservative councillor for The Homesteads.
The announcement was made by the leader of Thurrock Council, cllr Rob Gledhill at the annual council meeting on Wednesday night.
There was a minutes silence in respect of the former mayor.
