STAFF at the Bata Centre in East Tilbury have made an appeal after a number of their items placed in temporary storage have been stolen.
Readers will recall that there was a fire at the Bata Reminiscence Centre in 2017.
Since then, many of the artefacts have been in storage, waiting for the day that the centre can be fully restored.
Chair of Bata Heritage Centre, Mike Tabard said: “Among the items stolen recently were a number of Bata fireman’s helmets. One was yellow but they all have the word Bata on them.
“I just want people to have a look out, whether on-line or at car boot sales.
“We have reported it to the police.”
Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
