Thurrock parkrun set to celebrate NHS at 70

Parkrun NHS

THURROCK parkrun is set to celebrate the NHS’ 70th birthday.

Parkruns all over the country are recognising the contribution of the NHS to the health of the nation.

The 5k run starts at 9am on Saturday from Orsett Heath. It is not a race, just get round in your own way.

The mayor of Thurrock, Cllr Barbara Rice, a former matron, is set to see the runners off.

People are encouraged to dress in NHS and birthday-related outfits, particularly anything that makes others smile and challenges the stigma of mental health.
