Build a Big Den in Thurrock this weekend

MORE than 68,000 people around the country and over 2,100 people in Essex have set themselves a challenge, to get outside and do something WILD every day in June. 30 Days Wild encourages people to notice the nature on their doorstep and engage with the outdoors in a fun way, in the hope that this increased connection leaves people feeling happier and healthier at the end of it.

This is the fourth year of The Wildlife Trust’s 30 Days Wild campaign and this year has the addition of The Big Wild Weekend, an extra wild weekend right in the middle of June. Essex Wildlife Trust has the weekend all planned out, with activities and events for people of all ages at their Visitor Centres throughout the county.

Attend an open air concert in an ancient woodland, get up close to reptiles, join an all ladies birdwatching group, search for ancient fossils, take a guided summer stroll, build a den or just have a great family fun day out.

Emily McParland, Communications Officer at Essex Wildlife Trust, says: “We have so many fun activities and events to get involved with at all of our visitor centres. It’s going to be a really, really wild weekend and we can’t wait to celebrate it with you!”
