DEVELOPMENTS at South Essex College’s new Stephenson Road site are progressing well with the first phase of the building due to open in September 2018.
The site, based off Progress Road, will house the College’s Engineering and Construction provision plus Motor Vehicle qualifications – a first for Southend.
New courses set to be offered at the site include Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, MOT Training and Testing, Principles of Bus and Coach Maintenance and Motorcycle Engineering.
The technical hub will provide students with a one stop shop for all their education and training needs. It will include practical areas with industry standard facilities, classrooms and a student café.
Bharat Hirani, Head of Engineering and Construction at the College, said: “Our ambition is to equip more young people in the local area with the right skills to secure jobs in these important industries for the UK economy.
“The site is looking great, we’re incredibly excited to open and deliver great training opportunities for students.”
All courses still have places available, please visit www.southessex.ac.uk to apply now.
