Man stabbed and sprayed with substance in daylight attack in Grays Park

ESSEX Police are appealing for more information after a man was assaulted in Grays.

The victim, aged in his 30s, was approached by a man in Grays Park, Bedford Road, just before 4.30pm on Sunday, June 24.

After a verbal exchange, the man sprayed the victim in the face with an unknown substance, before assaulting him, leaving him with serious stab wounds to the head. The man is then believed to have left in the direction of Park Lane followed by Clarence Road.

The man was described by the victim as being black and aged in his late teens or early 20s. He stood at around 5ft 9ins tall and was wearing a black tracksuit. It is believed that he may have had a black ski mask to cover his face.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has any information, or any footage from nearby CCTV or dash cams is asked to get in touch with Grays CID on 101. The incident number to quote is 921 of 24/06.
