Teenage boy dies after collision with motorbike in Purfleet

“A teenage boy has died after a collision in Purfleet.

We were called to London Road, near the junction of Vellacott Close, after reports that a collision had occurred between a cyclist and a motorbike just after 3pm on Saturday, June 30.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, a teenage boy sadly died at the scene.

The rider of the motorbike has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers are asking for anyone who witnessed the incident,
or who may have dash cam or CCTV footage to come forward as our enquiries continue.

There is a road closure in place between Purfleet bypass and Lockyer Road. Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes.
