Thurrock teenager Olivia-Jayne releases her first original single

Olivia Jayne

Thurrock teenager and full-time performing arts student, Olivia-Jayne has released her first original single; In My Head.

THE track is an upbeat pop affair with strong lyrics and a melody that really does get into your head. If the pop version is a little too much for a relaxing Sunday afternoon, then the Piano Acoustic version, released August 9th, may be more to your liking. Both versions of this sensational track can be found on Spotify and iTunes and most other music platforms.

Olivia-Jayne penned the song with the help of former Voice contestant Tom Johnston and Essex DJ, Joe White and she is quick to share credit for the work; “Tom is just amazing at helping me arrange my ideas into workable lyrics and Joe always brings the music, to kick start the creative process”. Rees Bloomfield of SS2 Recording added the engineering prowess to produce a the final versions to wow the online music community. The talented quartet have already been back in the studio to write two more tracks to be released later in the year. “I’ve met some amazing people in the last year. Kenny Ball Junior, who can be found most Sunday’s performing in the garden at Sir Henry’s in Aveley, gave me some great advice to help my live performances and I also met an amazing photographer Lisa Visser, who did the the cover photo for In My Head”.

Thurrock has a wonderful track record of producing pop talent. X-Factor winner Louisa Johnson lived just yards from Olivia-Jayne when she won the show in 2015 at the age of 17 and East Tilbury born, chart-topping sensation Anne-Marie has had a glittering career that Olivia-Jayne hopes to emulate. Anne-Marie’s childhood career started in the West End in show’s like Les Misérables and Whistle Down the Wind. Olivia-Jayne has a true passion for musical theatre and the recent fusion of theatre and contemporary music in show’s like Hamilton and those based on the music of one artist, like Bat Out of Hell, means that she could realistically expect to follow a dual career path.

So, what does the rest of 2018 hold for Olivia-Jayne? “I’m back in the studio recording the next two single releases in the next few weeks, I’ll be singing live and doing a radio interview on PhoenixFM towards the end of August. I’m them looking to do some more live gigs on the run up to Christmas – I love performing live and so if anyone has slots to fill?, please do get in touch via my website www.olivia-jayne.co.uk
