NINE more drivers have been convicted following our summer #DriveSafeDriveSober anti-drink and drug driving campaign.
A total of 205 people were arrested between June 14 and July 15.
The campaign highlighted how alcohol and drugs can impair your reactions when driving.
The consequences of this can be fatal.
Those convicted are:
Daniel Lamont, 29, of Fortin Close, South Ockendon:
– Arrested at 1.35am on June 24 in Stifford Road, South Ockendon;
– Disqualified for 18 months, fined £300, £85 costs, £30 victim surcharge for drink driving;
– Driving licence endorsed for driving with no licence, without insurance, otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
Carl Williams, 48, of Fairlop Gardens, Basildon:
– Arrested at 10.30pm on June 15 in Fairlop Gardens, Basildon;
– Disqualified for 36 months, 150 hours unpaid work, £85 costs and £85 victim surcharge for drink driving.
Gintaras Pupelis, 48, of Amyand Park Road, Twickenham:
– Arrested at 3.55pm on June 18 in Manorway, Stanford-le-Hope;
– Disqualified for 24 months, 200 hours unpaid work, £85 costs and £85 victim surcharge for drink driving.
Joshua Oliver, 20, of The Street, Rushmere St Andrew, Ipswich:
– Arrested at 1.42am on June 23 in Avon Way, Colchester;
– Disqualified for 18 months, and 150 hours unpaid work for drink driving;
– Driving licence endorsed, £250 fine, £85 costs, £85 victim surcharge for driving without a licence;
– Driving licence endorsed for driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence;
– Total of £350 compensation and 150 hours unpaid work for two counts of assaulting a police officer.
Karla Worswick, 33, of Havengore, Basildon:
– Arrested at 3.30am on June 28 in Ashlyns Road, Basildon;
– Disqualified for 12 months, fined £120, £85 costs, and £30 victim surcharge for failing to provide a specimen.
Devin Tucker, 21, of The Street, Beck Row:
– Arrested at 3.26am on June 30 in Southway, Colchester;
– Disqualified 24 months, £566, £85 costs, £56 victim surcharge for drink driving.
Alkan Deveci, 28, of Threshers End, Stanway:
– Arrested at 9am on Straight Road on July 1;
– Disqualified for 12 months, fined £120, £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge for drink driving;
– Fined £120 and licence endorsed for driving with no insurance.
Lancelot Rodrick, 43, of Peartree Close, Southend:
– Arrested at 10.20pm on July 7 in Snakes Lane, Southend;
– Disqualified for 12 months, fined £120, £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge for drink driving.
