Statement from Thurrock Council
“SOME refuse and recycling bins in South Ockendon, Bulphan and Horndon-on-the-Hill could not be collected today because the bin lorry couldn’t get down blocked roads.
“We’re planning to send crews out tomorrow to collect them.
“Please leave bins out.
“We apologise for any inconvenience”.
Maybe TBC should post the pictures of the vehicles causing the obstruction. That way the neighbours can name and shame the culprit. Assuming the bin collecters take photos as proof that the road was blocked and its just not an excuse to skive off in ths hot weather.
We have one of our bins emptied a day late every week now. No excuse they can’t get down our road.
Sack them and get people who want to work and not make excuses.
Wasn’t so long ago the binmen were threatening strikes because they were going to have live cameras that their managers could view. Live cameras would show if the road was really blocked or not.
Come on Thurrock Council show us the footage.
