THE Speedway community is in mourning after former Lakeside Hammer rider Tomasz Jedrzejak was found dead aged 39.
Jedrzejak, who has ridden for Lakeside and Belle Vue among others, was found in Wroclaw, Poland on Tuesday morning.
The 2012 Polish champion, was only out on the track on Sunday, scoring an impressive 11 points for Stal Rzeszow in the Polish second division.
Polish news sources are claiming that Jedrzejak took his own life.
A statement on Rzeszow’s website read: “With great regret and despair, we announce that Tomasz Jędrzejak left us last night.
“Our dear colleague, reliable colleague, wonderful and extremely talented rider.
“The death of our friend is a huge blow to us, there are no words to express our sorrow and sadness.
Lakeside Hammers posed on social media: “We are very sad to hear of the passing of one of our former Hammers Tomasz Jędrzejak.
Our thoughts and condolences to his family at this sad time. R.I.P Tomasz ⚒”
