LOCAL CHILDREN’S FOOTBALL CLUB SPORTS NEW KIT THANKS TO AMAZON DONATION
Grays Athletic Football Club’s under 15’s team has received a £1,500 donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre in Tilbury.
Based in Grays, Essex, the club is community-owned and run by local supporters. Coached by local Amazon Associate, Leigh Diprose, the Grays Athletic Youth U15 Whites has used the donation to lower the team’s signing fee and help purchase a home kit, training kit, tracksuit, rain jacket and polo shirt for the full team.
Speaking on the donation, Prajvin Prakash, General Manager at Amazon in Tilbury, said:
“We are thrilled to offer our support to Grays Athletic Football Club. Playing sports has such a positive influence on our young community members; not just in promoting physical health, but for boosting confidence and teaching team-building skills. It is a pleasure to lend a helping hand to Leigh’s team, and we hope that this donation will encourage more young people to get involved in local sports.”
Leigh Diprose, Coach at Grays Athletic Youth U15 and Amazon Associate in Tilbury, added:
“On behalf our team and their families, I’d like to give a huge thank you to Prajvin and my Amazon family for their generous donation. Our club is fully dependent on the support of our amazing community, so we were over the moon when Amazon offered to help. A great example of them giving back to our local community. As the coach for six years, I know how important football is to our players, and we are all excited to get on the pitch as a team and show off our brand-new kit.”
The donation forms part of the ‘Amazon in the Community’ programme whereby the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK.
